When you think of a dream casino destination, your mind probably goes to the gigantic Vegas-style establishments that sprawl over large hectares of land. Allow your mind to wander inside, and you can picture rows and rows of slot machines and table games like blackjack, poker, and roulette.
While this view of a land-based casino is not far from the truth, you will be surprised to know that there are some brick-and-mortar casinos that are not as big and glamorous as the ones in Monte Carlo or on the Las Vegas strip.
In fact, some mini-casinos are so small that average retail stores look gigantic compared to them. While some of these minuscule gambling buildings have closed and become relics of history, others still welcome visitors.
Here are the top 10 Smallest Casinos in the world.
10. Wildfire Casino & Lanes

This casino and bowling center is in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. It is one of the most popular gambling destinations in Nevada. Although smaller compared to average casinos, the gambling establishment boasts over 180 of the latest Las Vegas slots, video poker machines, and 12 HDTV Screens.
The casino offers an 18-lane bowling center with an advanced scoring system that can give you memorable experiences on Friday nights. A full-service bar and restaurant ensure you don't go hungry while having the best time of your gaming life.
9. SkyCity Wharf Casino

Another notable mention on our list is SkyCity Queenstown Casino in Queenstown, New Zealand.
The casino was established in 2000 as Otago Casino, the fourth one to open in New Zealand. It offered 86 slot machines and six gaming tables, including Roulette, Poker, and Baccarat.
The land-based casino was acquired by SkyCity in 2013 and was rebranded as SkyCity Wharf Casino. For some time now, the casino has been closed until further notice.
8. Saloon No.10

Saloon No.10 is perhaps the most famous location in the historic town of Deadwood, South Dakota, USA. The site is home to a small casino where you can play over 70 slot machines and four blackjack tables.
But it's not only the gambling that gave Saloon No.10 its popularity. The site has a rich history and played a huge part in shaping the town.
It was in this saloon that American folk hero Wild Bill Hickcock died holding aces and eights, which led to the coining of the term "dead man's hand."
Many tourists also visit Saloon No.10 for its aesthetics. The saloon's walls are adorned by thousands of antiques and artefacts, including pictures of Deadwood's historical characters.

6. Macau Palace, Macau, China
[ Source: TripAdvisor.com]
Also known as the floating casino, Macau Palace is the smallest one in Macau, China. Although the casino is no longer operational, it attracted a lot of tourists in its heyday, including the famous fictional British spy James Bond.
The casino was featured in several scenes of the award-winning James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun (1974).
For some years, the Macau Palace was situated in the Outer Harbour in front of the modern-day Fisherman's Wharf. However, in 2007, the casino was closed and moved to the other side of Macau in the bay at Fai Chi Kei. It stayed in its new location for some time before it was permanently closed.
The old icon of Macau had ten live table games and a select number of slot machines.
5. Palms Casino, Goa, India

Another notable mention on our list is Palm Casinos, in Goa, Inadia. Located on the mainland near Baga Beach, Palms Casino offers about 6-7 gaming tables and rows of slot options, all in one small room!
As a result of its tiny space, sometimes the casino gets crowded. As such, this casino won't be your favorite option if you are claustrophobic. However, it can still offer you a memorable gambling experience. Besides, it is only one of the few options you will find on land in Goa
4. Slots-A-Fun
[ Source: Wikipedia.org ]
Las Vegas is known for its monstrous and intimidating casinos. With so much focus on these gigantic resorts, not many people know that the strip also houses one of the smallest casinos in the world, the Slots-A-Fun.
Established in 1971, Slots-A-Fun has the reputation of being the smallest casino in Las Vegas. However, don't look down on the casino, as it boasts an impressive number of electronic games, classics, and slots. It also features a bowling alley where you can unwind if you want a break from playing slots. If you are feeling celebratory, you can grab a drink or two at its bar.
This is surely one place to visit if you ever desire an exciting slot gambling experience in Sin City.
3. Santa Ysabel Casino
[ Source: Foursquare.com ]
What is the difference between a two-bedroom apartment and a land-based casino? Not much in North County, San Diego, where Santa Ysabel casino run by the La Jolla band measured 600 feet in 2005.
It was 30 times smaller than Slots-A-Fun Casino and, compared to The Venetian Macao, which is the largest casino in the world, this one was 1000 times smaller.
The casino's small size was not intentional. The location was initially meant to be a resort. But due to financial difficulties, the operators could not continue with the plan, thus limiting Santa Ysabel Casino to only 30 slot machines inside a mini-mart.
Even if it did grow to have over 340 slot machines, it is still the smallest casino in San Diego County.
2. Basement Casino in North Cadbury Court
[ Source: telegraph.co.uk ]
Like Saloon No.10, North Cadbury Court has significant historical importance. It is a Grade 1 listed luxurious country house in Somerset, South West England, that dates back to the 16th century. The house covers 1500 acres and offers exclusive features like a lake, large tennis courts, a gym, a spa, and a very small casino in its basement with a maximum capacity of 30 people.
The casino is not open to the public, but it comes with the package if your pocket is deep enough to hire the venue for events such as weddings, book launches, and corporate meetings.
Since the casino facilities are only used occasionally, there is no fixed dealer, but the venue can always arrange one from town for you.
1. Birmingham Taxi Casino
[ Source: whatsonlive.co.uk ]
The Taxi Casino is perhaps the smallest casino that ever existed. The idea was birthed by UK-based Grosvenor Casino in 2016 to celebrate the summer of sport and raise funds for The Carers' Trust.
The one-of-a-kind casino taxi service was primarily situated in Birmingham. It featured a gaming table handled by a dealer, a range of internet gambling facilities and a bar.
The gambling house on wheels also had several televisions showing live sports matches across the country.
The Grosvenor cab casino offered a unique gambling experience on the go for players lucky enough to "get a ride." Don't get carried away though; the odds, bets, and the prospect of winning or losing your bankroll are still real.
After doing a tour of the country, the taxi casino was decommissioned, and it's a surprise that this widely-accepted innovation had yet to be imitated.
While it may no longer run on our streets, the uniqueness of the concept has earned it the number one place on our list of smallest casinos.
